Hi DJ Rockin Steve,
Dan and I just wanted to say thank you for all of your hard work and efforts at our wedding last month! The music you played was fabulous- all of our guests had an excellent time!
Your lite blue uplighting for the reception hall really looked great and highlighted all of the beautiful architecture in the Halle. We wish we had more time to talk that day- it went by so fast!
We wanted to let you know that we both appreciated all of your and your wife's efforts that helped to make our wedding day so special!

There are many songs out there for the wedding parent dances but many are not suitable for a joint father daughter and mother son dance. My Girl by the Temptations is a great father daughter dance and Oh Mother by Joe Wodarek is an amazing mother son dance but obviously they are gender based.
We have compiled over 85 songs that are possibilities for your formal wedding dance. Some are slow, some more upbeat and some are just not appropriate for your situation. Only you can decide which ones will suit you best.
I advise you not to read too much into the lyrics or you will be faced with absolutely no songs left. Your guests won't put too much thought into what they are hearing, merely enjoying those precious moments watching the 4 of you dancing.
If you would like to mix it up a bit then after a minute or so you can have the other parents join in (switch partners) or have your wedding DJ announce all of your guests join you on the dance floor. Your Disc Jockey can even shorten the song. Most songs will have the second chorus around two and a quarter minutes where the song can be faded out.
Don't rule out something very upbeat and poppy. We had a groom once that used Todd Rundgren's Bang The Drum for the mother and son wedding dance. It was played every Friday on the radio while his mom was driving him to high school. That song brought back many great memories for him. It was a surprise to his mom and the wedding guests really got into it.
What I am saying is don't be afraid of being a little different. These are the weddings guests will remember the most.
