  • Wedding Cost In The U.S. For 2012 | How Much Does A Wedding Cost?

Each year the cost of a wedding in the U.S. increases. Statistics for 2012 show that weddings increased approximately 1% from 2011. With so much involved in planning a wedding it is easy to see why. From the venue, meals, flowers thru the honeymoon it just seems to many couples that there isn't just enough money to go around.

The following information is derived from the "Wedding Report" showing the breakdown of what brides and grooms paid for their wedding help in 2012. These expenses are an average across america so depending upon where your wedding is to be held, may vary more or less.
The Knot estimated that there were more than 17,500 brides married in the United States. Budgets began increasing in 2011 following an economic turndown.

Surveyed were 5,650 couples whose wedding occurred between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012 according to the wedding report. Couples were of multiple ethnicities, incomes, first, second and third marriages. Small and large cities.

When planning your wedding ceremony and reception I suggest you focus upon what will have the greatest impact upon the outcome of the event. Over spending on favors and cutting on the entertainment isn't necessarily a wise choice.

24% of all weddings are destination weddings. This figure appears to be on the rise for 2013.

How much does a wedding cost cannot be precisely known based upon many variables. What does seem apparent is the wedding cost in the U.S. for 2012 increased and it's a good guess it will increase for 2013 as well.
