  • Duquesne University Power Center Ballroom Wedding | Shaylin & Bob

The Duquesne Center Power Ballroom wedding reception for Shaylin and Bob was just gorgeous. What a fantastic view for all of the 180 guests to see. Plus having the opportunity to be wed in the Duquesne University Chapel was something extravagant in itself I'm sure.

Shaylin and Bob shared vows and rings were placed upon their fingers starting at 3:00PM. Having beautiful weather on this momentous occasion was also icing on the cake.

Enjoying light finger foods in the foyer the guests listened to a variety of adult contemporary music such as Michael Buble', Natalie Cole, Bobby Darin and Frank Sinatra. Once the main doors were opened allowing all to enter the large main ballroom our bridal party quickly freshened up and Shaylin's wedding dress was bustled.

The bridesmaids wore peacock blue gowns and our bridal party was introduced to the wedding guests to "Beautiful Day". Bob and Shaylin entered to Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love".

The newlyweds cut the wedding cake with "I'm A Believer" by the ninties group Smashmouth playing in the background. Three toasts were next with two blessings given. Dinner music comprised of some traditional romantic classics then once all of the guests received their entree the beat picked up with some nice R&B and pop rock.

Enjoying some country music at their wedding reception Shaylin and Bob graced the dance floor with their first dance to Thompson Square's "Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not?". Bob did in fact kiss Shaylin at the conclusion of the dance answering that question.

Our bride then enjoyed a very special dance with her father for the father and daughter dance. The chosen melody was "I Loved Her First", Heartland. A mother son dance followed with Bob and his mom dancing to LeAnn Womack's "I Hope You Dance". Partway thru the formality all the moms were asked to bring their own sons forward and join in for the remaining of the dance.

Additional wedding goers joined in on the fun and festivities for numerous other dance songs on the large dance floor giving them plenty of room to move about. For those who had left room for the wedding cookies there were ample delicious treats for all to enjoy. Just as the invitees were becoming exhausted an anniversary dance was held to determine the longest married couple present. How fitting was the Billy Joel hit "Just The Way You Are" for this wedding formality.

Next up on the list was the bouquet toss where Shaylin tossed her gorgeous wedding bouquet to the Beyonce' top 40 hit "Single Ladies". Bob was the perfect gentleman when it came time to remove his wife's garter enjoying "A Little Less Conversation" by Elvis Presley.

Bob called upon all the single men in the house as he was tossing the garter. The bachelors all lined up as "You Shook Me All Night Long" played in the background. The lucky available bachelor then placed the prized garter onto the bridesmaid Sara who had caught the bouquet earlier.

Dancing then continued for the remainder of the evening with a few of the top hits being played were "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith, The Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling" and a requested favorite, "Party In The U.S.A.", Miley Cyrus.

A fun time was had by all at the Duquesne University Power Center Ballroom wedding and we wish Shaylin & Bob all the luck and happiness in the world in their new travels together.
