Guests mingles in the front room enjoying hors d'oeuvres and sipping their favorite ice cold drinks. A variety of music was played as all the friends and family were relaxing and awaiting the arrival of our newlyweds.
Once the bridal party arrived guests made their way to the main ballroom. A beautiful venue lit with blue uplighting between the large glass windows giving way to a view of Consol Energy. With the head table poised in front of the windows it made for great pictures.
Once the bridal party finished freshening up and everyone took their proper place in line, it was time for introductions. Parents of the bride Mr. and Mrs. Michael Killian were first to be introduced with guests applauding their entrance. The applause continued for the parents of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Lang.
With the bridal party excited and having their dance moves ready they entered to "Best Day Of My Life" by the American Authors. Dr. Christopher and his lovely wife Lauren entered as guests stood and loudly cheered to Jason Derullo's "Marry Me.
The newlyweds immediately went into their first dance "I Won't Give Up" by Jason Mraz. Their gorgeous wedding cake with the large "L" atop for "Lang" was next on the agenda to be cut. James Taylor "How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You" was the melody they selected as they shared a small piece of cake amongst themselves.
Ashley the maid of honor gave the toast and concluded it with a personalized rap to the tune of the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air". (You may listen to her rap toast in the video below.) It was so unique and perfectly customized to Chris and Lauren friends and family clapped along and ended with much applause and laughter.
Best man Matthew did his best to follow such a toast but pulled it off in style as he read quotes from Chris's 6th grade journal. (Listen to his toast in the video below. His toast follows the maid of honors). It was so amusing to hear about all of his "girl-friend of the day" entries. Following the humorous toasts Father Bob Miller had the blessing then dinner was served.
Upon completion of a fabulous dinner a coffee station was opened for all to enjoy. The next formality was the father and daughter dance. Lauren and her dad danced to "My Little Girl" from the Wedding Central CD. Chris's mother enjoyed a few precious moments with her son to the Backstreet Boy's hit "Perfect Fan".
As guests enjoyed wedding cake and plenty of fresh cookies as only weddings in Pittsburgh could the dance floor was opened. Following one slow song friends, family and the entire bridal party showed off their dance moves.
Some of the favored hits were "Happy" by Pharrell Williams, Marcia Griffiths "Electric Boogie", "Cupid Shuffle" (Mr. C) and the "Wobble" by V.I.C. A wide range of music was played from the 60's thru today satisfying everyone's fancy.
Dancing was non stop with the exception of a brief bouquet toss while guests caught their breath. Lauren tossed her bouquet to "Where My Girls At". Chris removed his wife's garter to Selena Gomex's "Come And Get It", then tossed it to a group of bachelors to the classic rock hit "Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top.
Following a full two hours of dancing wedding guests and bridal party were worn out but saved enough energy for one last tribute. With Dr. Christopher and his bride Lauren in the center of all of their guests they sand to Journey's hit "Don't Stop Believing".
It was such a wonderful sight to see the newlyweds closest friends and family surround them with such enthusiasm and love. It made for a perfect ending to a perfect day. We wish Lauren and Chris the best life has to offer along with the greatest health and good times.
